A winter storm hitting the U.S. Northeast has triggered widespread flight cancellations and delays. FlightAware reports that by 3:30 p.m. local time there were 1,748 cancellations and 21,102 delays at major airports, including JFK, LaGuardia and Newark. The U.S. National Weather Service warned that the storm could bring 12–20 cm of snow and below‑freezing temperatures. "Plan your travel ahead, stay updated, and book ample time. Ensure your flight is safe," said Governor Kathy Hochul. Travelers planning trips are urged to check flight status in advance and wait until the weather stabilizes.
